Hello, am getting ready for September…school and tour. Have to buy school uniforms for boys, shoes, bags, loads of stuff. Also am trying to get organised for tour. Keep reading those lovely glossy magazine articles about beautiful actresses who travel and spritz themselves with lovely skin-healing sprays, bring cashmere throws for the plane, rub essential oils into their pulse points, and do entire pilates workouts when they get to their hotels. Long to be such a floaty-through-airport person. Instead, I haul a huge carry-on bag filled with many books in case I finish them all, plus the ones I buy in other country airports because I HAVE to have them. I also have floppy tracksuit bottoms, books and notebooks in case I get bored (I may bring my wooden crochet hook and some wool, just in case) pashmina in ludicrous colour that gets filthy instantly and shoes that turn out to give me blisters. When I get to the hotel room, I instantly eat all the chocolate in the mini-bar, semi unpack and somehow destroy any vague neatness of luggage, and then lie on the bed and surf TV. This time it will be different!!! How do you travel, folks…?
