Once In A Lifetime, her eleventh novel published in paperback in September 2009 went to No 1 within days of its release. Her books are international best sellers in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Lesson for the month

LESSON for the month: never use the ‘find and replace’ button to change a character’s name when the character’s name is ‘Liv.’ I should know this. Many years ago, I had a character called Len (must be a weird thing with L names) and replaced it with the flick of a keyboard button. The word len is in a lot of words and imagine how it messes up sentences when you change it to Fred. The word ‘slender’ becomes ‘sFredder.’

Well, I just did it again with Liv. I got a mad fetish to call the character Fidelma instead and now, have an entire book with ‘they used to Fidelmae in Co Cork’, instead of ‘they used to live in Co Cork.’ Back to the drawing board. Ooh, I love interesting names, so if you have any, do send them in.
